The Promises of God Storybook Bible

"The Promises of God Storybook Bible" Written by Jennifer Lyell Illustrated by Thanos Tsilis  I wish such amazing children's Bible existed when I was a kid! Beautifully written with super easy to understand words and explanations, this children's Bible is perfect for the little ones. Jennifer has done an amazing job of retelling these beloved Bible stories from Genesis to Revelation. The author was able to capture the meat of important passages in Scripture with easy to understand wording, which is not easy to do.  The illustrator has done an amazing job as well, all the illustrations are beautiful. As an adult, I enjoyed flipping through this beautifully and well-done kids' Bible. I don't have any children but I will be gifting this to my nephew who enjoys reading. I'm sure he'll love it! I received a copy of this book from B&H in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Small Groups Made Easy

"Small Groups Made Easy: Practical and Biblical Starting Points to Lead Your Gathering" by Ryan Lokkesmoe If you need a short and simple handbook on how to start and lead a small group then this book would be perfect for you. It is divided into 2 parts: the How- to and sample lessons. The first part explains in simple and practical terms how to lead a small group plus some challenges you may face. The second part has short and sweet sample lessons you may choose to use in the first couple of meetings.  You get exactly what the title says; it's short, to the point, and practical. However, small groups are not so simple sometimes so if you were looking for a more in-depth handbook this will not be as helpful. Though this book brings up good guidance, not all small groups will benefit from its contents.  I received a copy of this book from Bethany House in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
