20 Things We'd Tell Our Twentysomething Selves
By Kelli & Peter Worrall
Couple, Kelli and Petter Worrall team up and offer deep and honest godly advice for twentysomethings. Drawing up from their own personal experiences; their ups and downs, joyful and sorrowful moments, makes this book easy to relate to on many levels.
This book is for every twentysomething, as they write, "whether you may have landed an entry position at your dream job or are making lattes at a trendy espresso bar...or whether you're married or single," it appeals to everyone no matter what stage you are in life. As a twentysomething myself, I was able to relate to every chapter in some way or another.
This is the kind of book that makes you reflect on your relationship with God and how this stage of your life can be used to the fullest, with encouragement, love, and wisdom.
The Worralls emphasize the importance of DEPENDING wholly on God for everything. This resonated strongly with me because I've struggled with complete dependence on God throughout my teens, early twenties and still now up to my mid-week. This book hit home for me. It's a warm careful nudging to the heart, but at the same time as for self-reflection.
Your twenties is a very important decade of change and growth but quite frankly, it can be full of confusion, doubts, stress, fear, unresolved pain, and bad habits. If you struggle with any of these, this book is for you.
I took my time reading this book to fully grasp every word of wisdom and would recommend reading slowly and thoroughly.
There are three short sections at the end of each chapter, "Actions to Consider," "Questions for Reflection and Discussion," and "Other Things to Read" that are very helpful.
I admire the author's authentic sincerity and humility with which they penned this book, it lends a calm and loving voice- as if you were in their office speaking to them personally.
Thank you to Kelli and Peter Worrall for writing this guide for us twentysomethings, I look forward to more of your future books!
I received a copy of this book from Moody in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
