The Key to Everything

"The Key to Everything" by Valerie Fraser Luesse This a sweet, nice, and fun read about coming of age. Fifteen-year-old Peyton Cabot sets out on a quest to search what his father found many years before. We see him grow, learn, mature, and find young, innocent love. Peyton goes on a long bike ride from his home in Georgia to the Florida Keys in search of this element in his life. He finds so much more in his travel.  This book reminded me a little of Huck Finn and his adventures but with a spiritual twist. I can't help but notice the similarities this novel has with the Christian life- as babies in the faith when we first set out with hunger to learn and grow more in the faith.  This is a sweet and clean novel I definitely recommend to Christians of all ages. This makes for a perfect traveling read.  I received a copy of this book from Revell in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

Unshackled

"Unshackled: Breaking the Strongholds of Your Past to Recieve Complete Deliverance" by Kathy DeGraw I don't know where to start with this one. I hate having to write very negative reviews but I think this is an important one for those considering reading this book. In a few words, it's bad. Very bad. I don't know what I was thinking when I requested this book.  To start, the author's biography on the back gives away the author's ultra mysticism/ new age/ word of faith philosophy. Read this quote from the bio: "Kathy DeGraw is a prophetic spiritual warfare and deliverance minister who releases the love and power of God to ignite and activate people, releasing their prophetic destinies and deliver them from the bondage of the enemy. "   Huh? This makes it sound like she's some type of magician or witch. (No apologies for the strong words). Even then, I decided to skim through the book in a quest to find some redeeming qual...

They Shall Expel Demons

"They Shall Expel Demons: What You Need to Know About Demons- Your Invisible Enemies" by Derek Prince Where do I even start? This is the most informative and easy to understand book on demonology I've read. This is a VERY important book that every Christian needs to read. I'm glad I chose this book to review because I learned so much. Mr. Prince answered several questions I've had for years and confirmed convictions I wasn't sure about. I often wondered if born-again Christians could be possessed or demonized and if ongoing, never-ending struggles with certain sins could be due to demonization, after reading this book I'm convinced that the answer is a definite yes.  This is my first book by Mr. Prince but I have listened to his sermons before, enough to know that his teachings are Scriptural and his heart was in the right place. I believe everything he has shared in this book is true including the testimonies of people who have been de...
