"The Counselor"
by A.W. Tozer
Yet another convicting and quotable Tozer book! Tozer is one of my favorite Christian writers so I've read my fair share of his books. This one is definitely one of his best. This one talks about the Holy Spirit and His role in our lives. Tozer discusses why Christianity today lacks the presence of the Holy Spirit and what we need to do about it. He explains what it means to know the Holy Spirit and the relationship we need with Him.
Tozer rebukes Christians who want to be full but not filled. He also addresses how many people confuse excitement/ enthusiasm with the Holy Spirit.
In trueTozer fashion, he convicts, exhorts, and rebukes in a way that leaves you desperate to get right with God. Even if you've had these convictions before, it's good to get a shake once a while. Tozer will keep you on your toes and challenge you to a genuine Christian life, you will not want to revert to mediocrity.
This is a book I will definitely re-read, quote, and give away in the future.
I received a copy of this book from Moody in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
